Medical Aid in Dying
High-touch, high-quality, timely access to all services related to Medical Aid In Dying. I have been involved in the right to die with dignity and autonomy movement since the California EOLOA law was first passed in 2016, and I have been at the bedside for over 100 deaths. I manage all mandated steps, family and client emotional support, and day of ingestion bedside support.
To qualify, a person must be terminal with a prognosis of six months or less, cognitively able to make medical decisions, able to swallow the medication or push a plunger of a G-tube/rectal tube, be a resident of CA and at least 18 yrs of age.

The services I provide include.

Eligibility assessments

Support for patients and families regarding symptom management and decision-making

Emotional and spiritual support to patients and families

Mandated physician visits

Coordination of required second consulting physician

Medication prescription from specialty pharmacy

Coordination with palliative care, hospice services, doulas, and/or care home staff

Bedside attendance on the day of death (including placement of rectal tube for patients unable to swallow)

Coordination with funeral home

Ongoing support to families as needed

Stand-alone physician services for day of ingestion support for patient with MAID medications is also available for clients who already have the MAID medications
